Superior mesenteric artery aneurysm endovascular repair

نویسندگان

چکیده

Superior mesenteric artery aneurysms are rare and associated with high mortality rates in cases of rupture. Current Society for Vascular Surgery guidelines recommend treatment all superior regardless size. A 53-year-old woman who was admitted abdominal pain found a 14-cm, ruptured branch aneurysm. Endovascular approach performed microvascular plug embolization feeding aneurysm sac exclusion stent graft. Four months later, the patient demonstrated 21% regression patency. Thus, timely diagnosis endovascular techniques can reduce potential complications.

Superior mesenteric artery branch--jejunal artery aneurysm.

Visceral artery aneurysm (VAA) is a relatively uncommon disorder and it shows some vague symptoms. Therefore, the clinical diagnosis is difficult and these aneurysms are discovered and diagnosed only after rupture in many cases. This case report describes the history of a woman who had a superior mesenteric artery (SMA) branch aneurysm. A 62-year-old woman presented with fatigue and moderate to...

Superior mesenteric artery ischemia: endovascular approach

Background Mesenteric chronic ischemia is an unfrequent pathology usually related to obstructive and stenosing atherosclerotic pathologies of one or more digestive arteries. Among these, the most frequently envolved and revascularised is the superior mesenteric artery. There is a relative prevalence among the female elderly. Symptoms are often represented by the typical angina abdominis and wei...

A hybrid repair of a superior mesenteric artery pseudoaneurysm using open mesenteric bypass and endovascular exclusion.

Superior mesenteric artery (SMA) aneurysms and pseudoaneurysms are uncommonly encountered in vascular surgery practice, but they typically require repair. Historically, they have been repaired with open aneurysmorrhaphy, bypass and exclusion, or simple ligation. More recently, endovascular repair with coil embolization and stent graft exclusion have been advocated. We present a repair of an SMA...

Endovascular Repair of Ruptured Iliac Artery Aneurysm

Emergent stent-graft endovascular aneurysm repair in a 69-year-old male patient with ruptured bilateral iliac artery aneurysms is reported. Endoleak prevention and pelvic circulation preservation are the critical issues in endovascular repair for iliac artery aneurysms, especially when covering bilateral internal iliac arteries. Perioperative hemodynamic stability is crucial for preventing isch...

Endovascular Management of Superior Mesenteric Artery (SMA) Aneurysm – Adequate Access is Essential for Success – Case Report

BACKGROUND An aneurysm of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) with a diameter of 2.2 cm was found incidentally on an ultrasound (US) examination in a 26-year-old woman. The only known risk factor was an intracranial aneurysm that was found on her grandmother's autopsy. Based on pregnancy planning and the current literature, endovascular management with a covered stent was proposed. CASE REPO...
